Under blue skies and in front of their closest family and friends, Joanie and John said ‘I Do’ this past spring and I’ve been obsessed with their wedding details ever since. This post is long overdue! Before Joanie and John’s big day we started planning all the details that would tell their love story and set the tone for their wedding day to their family and friends. Joanie had a clear vision for her wedding details and was the most laid back bride to work with ever.
The customization began with a one-of-a-kind save the date to get guests excited for the April 8th wedding and then began the planning for the invitations. I drew inspiration from the blush pink of the bridesmaid dresses (actually called Blushing Pink by Azazie), the pink roses that would be in Joanie’s bouquet and the greenery she had picked for her table arrangements. Complete with an RSVP postcard and hand lettered envelopes, we sent this suite off to J & J’s guests and got down to business planning day of details.
Joanie chose to go with gold mirrors as signage for her day, mixing perfectly with her rustic, modern theme. The mirrors were the perfect detail to combine with the white votives, lush greenery, rustic wooden chairs, and the beautiful venue scene of Glen Ellen Farm. The Bible verses and favorite song lyrics on these pieces added special touches throughout the day.
Of course, no wedding is complete without a seating chart and table numbers! Two vintage windows greeted family and friends at the entrance to the reception, asking them to “please find their seat!” These vintage wooden windows were a total score and I’m convinced they will remain in my top 5 favorite wedding signs of all time. Joanie purchased these table number cards from Wedding Paper Divas, each with a chapter and verse number from the bible on the bottom, and I lettered the numbers on each.
What makes these details even more special besides the honor of creating them, is that Joanie is one of my best friends and I was a bridesmaid standing by her side on her wedding day. It truly was a beautiful day for an amazing couple. Joanie and John are two of the sweetest people with the kindest hearts, and I feel blessed that I could be such a big part of their day and help tell their love story for years to come.
Here are a few of my other favorites that I wanted to share so you could experience all the love and joy from their day. All photos by the wonderfully talented Costola Photography.
Is she not the most beautiful bride ever.
